Getting started
a) Selecting the operating mode
On one side of the night light there is a switch for the selection of the operating mode
(4).
"AUTO" An integrated brightness sensor monitors the ambient brightness and pre-
vents the night light from being activated during the day.
At a low ambient brightness (approx. 5 - 20 lux) the PIR motion detector is
operational. If the temperature in the detection range changes, the detector
automatically switches the night light on and off again when the pre-set time
(3 or 8 minutes) has elapsed.
If the device detects another temperature change during the switch-on time,
the luminous period starts again.
If you use battery-operated slaves (item no. 1005407), they will also be
switched on or off via radio.
"ON"
The night light is permanently switched on. If you use battery-operated
slaves (item no. 1005407), they will also be switched on via radio.
"OFF"
The night light is switched off. If you use battery-operated slaves (item no.
1005407), they will also be switched off via radio.
b) Selecting the transmission channel
The "Master" is able to control any number of "Slaves" (item no. 1005407). Of course,
multiple "Masters" can control one or several "Slaves".
However, it is important that all devices are set to the same transmission and recep-
tion channel.
Use the sliding switch (5) to select between 3 different channels.
Thus, a total of 3 independent transmission/reception groups can be oper-
ated close to each other (for example, on 3 floors of a building or similar).
c) Selecting the luminous period
In the operating mode "AUTO" the luminous period can be switched between 3 and 8
minutes using the sliding switch (6).
Please keep in mind that with a setting of 8 minutes the battery service life
of the slave (item no. 1005407) is reduced. Here, we recommend the use of
rechargeable batteries instead of normal batteries.
d) Connection
Insert the night lamp into a wall-mounted mains socket. The transparent part with the
LEDs thereby should point downwards in order to provide a better illumination of the
floor.
e) Function
Operating mode "AUTO"
An integrated brightness sensor monitors the ambient brightness.
If the ambient brightness drops below a specific value (e.g. in the evening or at night),
the PIR motion detector is active. If a temperature change is detected in the detection
range, the LED light of the night light is activated for the pre-set luminous period.
Furthermore, the "Master" transmits a switch-on command to all "Slaves" which are
set to the same channel as the "Master".
If the device detects another temperature change during the switch-on time, the lu-
minous period starts again.
If the PIR motion detector does not detect any more temperature changes during the
pre-set luminous period (3 or 8 minutes), the LED light of the "Master" switches off.
Furthermore, a switch-off command is transmitted to all "Slaves" which are set to the
same channel as the "Master".
Operating mode "ON"
The "Master" remains switched on. If you use battery-operated slaves (item no.
1005407), they will also be switched on via radio.
Operating mode "OFF"
The "Master" is switched off. If you use battery-operated slaves (item no. 1005407),
they will also be switched off via radio.
Information on the radio range
The transmission range between "Master" (item no. 1005406) and "Slave" (item no.
1005407) is up to 30 m.
However, this indication refers to the so-called "free field range", thus, it is
the ideal range for operation on a level surface without interfering factors.
In practice, the radio transmission range is however considerably reduced due to the
following interfering factors:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings, light-weight walls with metal post and beam
construction
• Proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g., radiators, metal doors, special coated
wall papers)
• Devices on the same frequency
• Proximity to electronic devices, electric motors, transformers, mains adapters,
computers, cables, wires
If there is any problem with the range, it is often sufficient to place the de-
vices in another location.
Maintenance and cleaning
• The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled
for any reason. The LED bulbs used are installed permanently and cannot be re-
placed.
• Prior to each cleaning, remove the night light from the mains socket. When this has
been done, the night light can be cleaned with a soft, clean, dry cloth.
Dust can be easily removed with a soft, clean brush.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents. These can attack the plastic housing
and lead to discolouration.
Disposal
D ispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statu-
tory regulations.
