System Requirements

To install and use SunPCi II 2.3 software, you need the following:
A PCI-based UltraSPARC computer with one or more SunPCi II cards installed.
See the SunPCi II 2.3 Installation Guide for a complete list of supported systems.
Solaris 2.6, Solaris 7, or Solaris 8 operating environment.
Common Desktop Environment (CDE) X-Window manager.
A CD-ROM drive, either local (attached to your system), or remote (attached to
another system on your network).
Note – The SunPCi II product supports only Sun CD-ROM drives. CD-ROM drives
from other manufacturers may not function correctly.
A hard disk; either local or remote (local preferred), with at least 40 Mbytes of
available storage space for the SunPCi II package, and additional storage space
for the desired operating system:
The SunPCi II card comes with 64 Mbytes of on-board RAM. To use the following
Microsoft Windows operating systems with your SunPCi II system, your SunPCi
II card should have installed RAM as indicated:

Windows NT4 TS—1024 Mbytes
Windows NT4 WS—1024 Mbytes
Windows ME—512 Mbytes
Windows 98 SE—512 Mbytes
Windows XP Professional—128 Mbytes (for best performance, use 256 Mbytes)
Windows 2000 Server—128 Mbytes (for best performance, use 256 Mbytes)
Windows 2000 Professional—128 Mbytes (for best performance, use 256
Mbytes)
Windows NT4 Server—128 Mbytes (for best performance, use 256 Mbytes)
Windows NT4 TS—128 Mbytes (for best performance, use 256 Mbytes)
Windows NT4 WS—64 Mbytes
Windows ME—64 Mbytes
Windows 98 SE—64 Mbytes
Memory requirements for Windows NT4 Server and Windows NT4 TS are
based on the number and type of users connecting. See the White Papers
referenced in "Accessing Sun Documentation Online" on page xxv.
