To print to the parallel port with SunPCi II software, simply use the Print command
from your PC-based application, just as you would from a PC.
Note – These instructions apply to a local printer that you attach to the parallel port
on your SunPCi II card. For information about how to use your Solaris printer with
Microsoft Windows operating systems, refer to "Printing From Microsoft Windows
Using Solaris Printers" on page 152. For information about using USB printers, refer
to "Connecting USB Devices" on page 120.

Connecting a Serial Device

The optional add-on backplate contains a serial port that you can use to connect a
modem or serial device to operate with SunPCi II software. This serial port is
assigned to COM1.
To use the serial port, connect the serial cable from your device to the serial port on
the add-on backplate. If you need to install any additional drivers for the device you
want to use, have the software diskette or CD handy and use the corresponding
Control Panel to install the drivers. For more information about connecting and
using the serial device, refer to the documentation that came with your serial device.
