6.12 UNPLUGGING THE HEADER

DANGER
Stop windrower engine and remove key
before removing plugged material from
header. A child or even a pet could engage
the drive.
a. Stop forward movement of the windrower and
disengage the header.
b. Raise header fully, shut off engine, remove key.
c. Engage header lift cylinder locks.
WARNING
Wear heavy gloves when working around
cutterbar.
d. Open cutterbar doors and clean off cutterbar by
hand.

OPERATION

6.13 STORAGE

Do the following at the end of each operating
season:
a. Clean the windrower thoroughly.
Never use gasoline, naphtha or any volatile
material for cleaning purposes. These
materials may be toxic and/or flammable.
b. Store in a dry, protected place if possible. If
stored outside, always cover windrower with a
waterproof canvas or other protective material.
c. Raise header and engage header lift cylinder
lock-outs.
d. If possible, block up the windrower to take
weight off tires.
e. Repaint all worn or chipped painted surfaces to
prevent rust.

Loosen drive belts.
g. Lubricate the header thoroughly, leaving excess
grease on fittings to keep moisture out of
bearings. Apply grease to exposed threads,
cylinder
components.

Check for broken components and order
replacement from your dealer.

at beginning of next season.
j.
Replace or tighten any missing or loose
hardware.
Recommended Torques.
k. Remove tall crop dividers (if equipped) to reduce
space required for inside storage.
