Upon Installing OS

Unable to install OS
Is the Hard Disk Drive properly installed?
→ Make sure that the Hard Disk Drive is installed securely and that cables are properly connected.
Did you configure the RAID Controller?
→ For the RAID System, use EXPRESSBUILDER or RAID Configuration Utility (WebBIOS) to
properly configure the RAID Controller before installing OS.
Did you create a Logical Drive?
→ For the RAID System, create a Logical Drive using EXPRESSBUILDER or RAID Configuration
Utility (WebBIOS) to install OS.

Unable to install Windows
Have you checked precautions for installation?
→ Refer to "Installation Guide (Windows)".

A garbled message appears on the text-based setup screen during Windows installation and
Windows installation cannot be continued.
Are several Hard Disk Drives connected? Or did you try to install Windows with the several Logical
Drives created under the RAID Controller?
→ Remove the Hard Disk Drives other than the Hard Disk Drive on which to install the OS once and
then install Windows.
→ If you want to install Windows on a disk under the RAID Controller, install the OS using the
EXPRESSBUILDER DVD. If important data is still on a Logical Drive, be sure to make a backup
copy of it before installation. If you want to create several Logical Drives, create additional
Logical Drives with the RAID System configuration utility after installing Windows.

A product key was not requested
For Windows Server 2008 R2/Windows Server 2008
→ If you install using the backup DVD-ROM, entering the product key is not required. If installing
using a DVD-ROM other than the backup DVD-ROM, a screen for entering the product key is
displayed twice, during OS installation, and, before the MICROSOFT SOFTWARE LICENSE
TERMS dialog box, which displays after OS installation. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter
the product key.

installation environment
SM Bus Controller
PCI Simple Communications Controller
PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller
Base System Device
System Interrupt Controller
Performance Counters
