3.2 Setting Measurement Conditions
NOTE: Sipping amount in the same Sipping Time decreases when
measuring in the room temperature lower than 25C or
when measuring a sample with comparatively higher
viscosity. If you set the Sipping Time to be longer than
5 seconds, the influence of carry-over effects can be
decreased.
Delay Time:
This is the waiting time after sipping sample before
starting the measurement. The time is settable within
the range of 0.0 and 1.0 - 999.9 seconds at
0.1 second intervals. This is used for stabilizing fluid
layer against fluctuation immediately after the sipping
is processed.
To measure a sample with a viscosity equal to pure
water and at a temperature close to 25°C, it is
recommended to set the Delay Time at 5 seconds or
more.
To measure a sample of organic solvent or a sample
at a temperature that is not close to 25°C, it is
recommended to set the Delay Time at 20 seconds
or more.
Air Purge:
This is the processing time for air-washing inside the
flow cell after measurement of sample that is sipped
by pushing the sipping lever. The time is settable
within the range of 0.0 and 1.0 - 60.0 seconds at
0.1 second intervals.
When the time is set at other than 0.0 second, the
peristaltic pump starts to rotate in order to perform
the Air Purge after the completion of measurement.
Therefore, remove the nozzle from the sample before
the measurement is complete.
NOTE: When measuring a sample of pure water at a temperature
lower than 25°C, or a sample with a high viscosity, the Air
Purge process will take 2.0 seconds or longer times
decreasing the sipping amount of the sample due to a large
difference in viscosity between air and the sample.
Therefore, set the Air Purge time at 0.0 or 1.0 second in
such case.
