4.9 Temperature Sensor Gas– AK1852, Gas & Electric AK1853 check and
replacement
The Thermistor can be checked without removing it from the Heat Air Room Heater. It can be checked
by unplugging it from the PCB following the steps shown below.
! Close gas supply/ isolate 230V supply.
! Remove covers.
To remove and replace Room Heater casing refer to chapter 4.7.3
- remove thermistor plug from PCB

- use long nose pliers to grip and lift
sensor out from the element housing
(gas & electric) or from the heat

exchange (gas only)
FINAL CHECKS: Full commissioning to include combustion analysis and gas soundness test

- measure resistance of Thermistor (approx.
1.9–2.4 k @ ambient temperature) Ensure

that the meter is set to the correct range
- plug thermistor back into PCB if ok, or
replace thermistor if faulty

- place the new sensor ensuring the
locating tabs fit into the grooved
recesses.
- firmly push sensor into position,
ensuring
edges
are
protruding and wiring is routed
through one of the channels. Plug
connector firmly into the correct
location on the PCB.
