One unique and outstanding feature of the processor is its "foot-
switch through to amplifier" capability. This allows you to control not
only the processor but also your amplifier with the same footswitch.
This also lets you to assign an effect to each of the footswitchable set-
tings of your amplifier and lock them into memory for retrieval on
demand.
These examples were performed using a GFX-1000, Crate's one, two
and three-button footswitches (the VCFS-1, the CFP-2 and CFP-3) and
the Crate TD-50C guitar amplifier. Other footswitch/amplifier combina-
tions may be used, but could produce slightly different results due to
possible differences in footswitch wirings. The GFX and BFX-1000
were specifically designed to add digital effects to virtually every
Crate amplifier in production at the time of their design. Crate does not
promise perfect results when using other brands of amplifiers or
footswitches in the footswitch section of these processors.
Using a One-Button Footswitch:
In this example, a one-button footswitch is used to control the amp's
chorus on/off and to assign 2 preset effects to the amplifier settings.
1: Connect the processor to the amplifier as usual.
2: Connect the one-button footswitch to the processor's FS IN 1 jack.
(See drawing below.)
3: Connect a mono cable from the processor's FS OUT 1 jack to the
amp's single-function footswitch jack. (See drawing below.)

You can now use the footswitch to turn the amp's chorus on and off.
Notice how the processor's LED #1 and the display window change
as you toggle the footswitch button. You can assign two effects to the
amp: one for its "chorus on" and another for its "chorus off" setting, as
described on the facing page.
