The processor has a built-in chromatic tuner (program 98) which
tracks the note being played and shows you whether it's sharp, flat or
in tune. When you are in the tuner mode the display window will show
the note being tuned on the left and a status bar on the right. To use
the tuner, follow this example:
For the sake of example, we're going to start with your instrument
slightly flat from standard tuning.
Example 6: Using the tuner:
1. Turn the PROGRAM knob until the display window shows "98."
The window will instantly change to the tuner mode display (note
being tuned on the left, status bar on the right).
2. Turn your instrument volume and tone all the way up and select
the pickup closest to the bridge. You may want to turn the proces-
sor's OUTPUT knob down for "privacy."
3. Pick the low E of your instruments with medium attack. (Turn the
processor's INPUT knob down until the CLIP LED stops flashing if
necessary.) Make sure all of the other strings are muted.
4. Within about a second the display window will look like this:
This shows that your E string is flat.
Tune the string up slightly while picking
the string about once every 3 seconds.
The indicator bars may flutter for a second before showing you the
status of the string. Keep tuning the string until the display looks
like this:
This shows that your E string is prop-
erly tuned.
5. Repeat for the rest of the strings.
NOTE: This is not a rush-it-through-and-just-get-it-close-to-
tuned-no-one-will-know-the-difference tuner. This is a take-a-
minute-and-do-it-right-highly-accurate tuner. When used
properly, your tuning will be faultless!
