Maintenance: Lubrication system
Cleaning centrifugal by-pass oil
filter
Remove the cover and clean inside with clean diesel.
NOTE! In case by-pass filter is very dirty, shorten
check interval, refer to chapter "Maintenance schedu-
le".
Changing hydraulic governor oil
filter
1. Stop the engine.
2. Place a drip pan under the governor oil filter.
3. Remove the governor oil filter with a filter wrench.
4. Clean the gasket for the new filter and coat it with
clean engine oil.
5. Fit the new filter and tighten it by hand.
6. Remove the air vent plug and fill filter with engine
oil. Reinstall the plug.
7. Operate the priming pump or the wing pump to cir-
culate engine oil. Check for leaks, tighten filter if
necessary.
Checking the oil
After an oil change always check the oil. Smell it for
strange smells and visually check it for the presence
of fuel or water.
