4.4. Connection-Possibilities of the Function Control

Use as air pressure outlet during screw-assembly:
· to control driver start and stop, as well as shut-off control of clutch;
· as cycle counter of the complete process;
each in connection with a PE-Switch or similar
This function control is under pressure of appx. 2 bar during actual screw-
driving. After reaching the preset torque, the clutch will disengage and turn off
the Screwdriver. The pressure in the function control line will drop. The
Screwdriver can now be lifted off the assembled screw.
Use as air pressure inlet:
· If 6.3 bar (90 PSI) air pressure is given to the function control port, the
driver starts rotating at about 15 % of its speed. This will simplify the enga-
gement of bit/socket to fastener (for example when driving hex screws,
nuts, etc.)
If the function control is not needed, the port has to be closed,
otherwise there is a loss of power of about 15 %.
Special Information in regards to the Reverse Port
·
The driver starts by remote-valve in right rotation through the center air
inlet connection and shuts off when the pre-adjusted torque is reached.
·
If air is given to the reverse air inlet for left rotation (positioned off-center)
the spindle drives at maximum torque capability. The spindle starts as
soon as air is given to the reverse port (without push to start).
·
The air connection port of the opposite turn direction has to be always
exhausted. (otherwise reduced power output).
