CLEANING SPARK ARRESTER

1. Unscrew the three (4mm) allen bolts (#4) securing the muffler end cap to muffler by using a 4mm allen wrench.
2. Remove muffler end cap(#3) and spacer plate (#2) from muffler assembly.
3. Carefully remove the spark arrester (#1) from the muffler assembly.
4. Remove accumulated carbon on the spark arrestor screen with soap and water and remove hard to remove carbon carefully
with a brass wire brush and then rinse and dry the spark arrestor.
5. Check the spark arrestor for damage, and replace it if necessary.
6. Re-install spark arrestor(#1).
7. Re-install spacer plate(#2) and muffler end cap (#3) on to muffler assembly.
8. Install the three (4mm) allen bolts (#4) securing the muffler end cap to the muffler and tighten them to the specified torque.
Be sure the exhaust pipe and muffler are cool before cleaning the spark arrester.

Tightening Torque:
Muffler End Cap Bolts: 6.77Nm / 5 ft/lbs
