Continuously Variable Transmission System
Do not modify any component of the CVT system.
The CVT system has been precision balanced any modification will cause the system to be out of balance, creating vibration and
additional loads on components. The CVT system rotates at high speeds, creating large amounts of force on clutch components. As
the owner, you have the following responsibilities for your own safety and the safety of others.
• Always follow all recommended maintenance procedures.
• Always make sure the CVT housing is securely in place during operation.
Belt Replacement
If a belt fails, always clean any debris from the duct and from the clutch and engine compartments when replacing the belt.
1. Allow hot components to cool before performing this procedure.
2. Remove left side foot rest mounting hardware and foot rest.
3. Remove CVT belt cover by unscrew the 8mm hex head bolts.
4. When removing CVT belt cover pay close attention to CVT clutch shaft O-ring. This O-ring is needed when re-installing CVT belt cover.
5. Clean all debris from CVT engine compartment.
6. Remove variator nut (17mm) and spacer.
7. Remove variator fan pulley .

8. Remove worn or damage CVT belt.
9. Install new CVT belt over clutch pulley first, than insert CVT belt over crank shaft.
10. Re-install variator fan pulley spacer and nut.
11. Tighten variator nut to 55Nm (5.5m kg, 39.8ft lb)
Failure to remove ALL debris when replacing the belt could result in vehicle damage, loss of control and
severe injury or death.
When removing variator fan pulley hold variator housing pulley in place. If variator housing pulley
is moved variator weights may fall out of place.
Due to use variator weights are needed to be inspected. Result of normal wear or aging.
