UPDATING THE SOFTWARE
The machine's software can be updated using either
an Internet connection or a USB cable. For update
information, refer to details posted on the Brother
Solutions Center (http://s.brother/cpqaa/).
Update Procedure Using DesignNCut
Manager
a
Click [DesignNCut] in the main window, and
then click [Check version].
Note
• With the mobile device version:
→ [Check version]

When the following message appears, click
[Update] to retrieve the software.
Memo
• Do not turn off the machine while it is being
updated.

When the following message appears on the
machine, turn the machine off, then on again.
The update is finished. Turn
the machine off, then on again.
Memo
• If the update confirmation window appears
when DesignNCut Manager is started up,
update DesignNCut Manager and the machine
according to the instructions that appear. If
either is not updated to their most recent
version, it will not be possible for DesignNCut
Manager and the machine to communicate.

Update Procedure Using Computer
If an upgrade file is posted on the Brother Solutions
Center (http://s.brother/cpqaa/), download the file,
and then update the machine according to the
following procedure.

While holding down
panel, press
to turn on the machine.

Plug the USB cable connectors into the
corresponding USB ports on the computer and
the machine.
Open the [This PC] folder on the computer, and
then select [Removable Disk].

Copy the upgrade file to [Removable Disk], and
then start it.
When the following message appears, press

Prepare firmware upgrade, then
press [OK] button.

• Do not turn off the machine while it is being
updated.

When the following message appears on the
machine, turn the machine off, then on again.
The update is finished. Turn
the machine off, then on again.
