2.1 Introduction

Inspur NF5486M5 is anew generation of 4U2S rack-mountedstorage server,supporting
106 3.5-inch hard drives, up to 1.25PB storage capacity, which is the IT device with the
largest storage density in the industry. Based on the new generation of Intel® Xeon®
scalable processors, and with the high-efficiency design, it can provide excellent computing
performance and flexible and large local storage capacity, which can be used as an ideal
solution for warm& cold storage in radio and television, transportation, education and
Internet industries. It is suitable for communication, Internet, large data centers and large
enterprises, as the infrastructure of distributed storage systems, and is also suitable for
applications such as video storage and cloud storage resource pools.

The 106 hard drives are controlled by four SAS expanders and are divided into four zones.
The BMC console can be used to control the operation of hard drives in each zone to achieve
optimal flexible configuration of services and performance.

the system maintenance, it provides the most convenient maintenance procedures for
