This number must be recorded in the Registration and Inspection Certificate in order to identify correctly your TATOMA mixer. INSTRUCTIONS AND PRECAUTIONS DURING THE WORK Loading Instructions: • Visually inspect the mixing system before each load. • Never overload the mixer. The mixing capacity is determined by product weight. An overloaded mixer will not mix properly, and require more horse power from the tractor, so you could damage the mixer.

AFTER WORK: • After operation, set the brakes, disconnect all power units, stop the engine and remove the keys from the ignition. • Store the mixer in an area away from human activity. • Do not park the mixer where it may be exposed to animals for long periods of time.

Loading System: The mixer can be supplied with a loading system (Silo cutter). It consists on the following components: Lever arm with silo cutter Lever arm (16): Made of a folding structural tube frame mounted on the front of the mixer.

    USER’S MANUAL MT HORIZONTAL MIXER WAGON. 2.2. POWER TAKEOFF Towed mixers come equipped with a 540 power takeoff, completed with the adequate protective equipment. A PTO shaft is provided. As an option, it can be requested with a single or a double CV PTO shaft. Both types of PTO shaft can be provided with a fuse bolt.

FRONT JACK The mixer is equipped with a front jack, that can be mechanical or hydraulic, that will help you to hook up the mixer to the tractor, as well will facilitate the parking of the mixer. In the case of the hydraulic front jack, it comes equipped with a control lever A control lever (P) attached to the side of the tub is used for operating the hydraulic jack.

    USER’S MANUAL MT HORIZONTAL MIXER WAGONS Once the mixer is hooked up, raise the trailer jack to its upper limit to avoid hitting possible obstacles on the ground during operation. Parking the mixer: Park the mixer in a flat area, far away from furrows, channels, banks, and ditches, etc. Lower the jack until it makes contact with the ground.

  • Page 43 Each control component (in accordance with the option), is marked with a label that indicates the function of each element. If these become deteriorated, the machine user can request new ones form the official dealer or directly from TATOMA. The adhesive labels that indicate the function of each hydraulic distributor and each mixer control must be kept in good condition and be changed if it becomes deteriorated.

They come in supports attached to the side of the tub, completed with safety locks that hold the chocks when the mixer is moving. Chocks must be returned always to their holders after use.

Driving with the parking brake on may cause breakdowns or blow out of the mixer tyres due to excessive overheating, provoking accidents.

    USER’S MANUAL MT HORIZONTAL MIXER WAGONS 2.7. BATTERY The battery is optional. It is found at the front of the mixer, and it is fastened into a box with a lid to protect it. In order to access the battery, remove the nuts and then remove the protective lid. The protective lid has an auxiliary electrical connection that is located on its left side, and it can be connected to the electric scale when loading is done without hitching the mixer to the tractor.

Once the previously mentioned adjustments have been done, the operator should check up the following: ▪ the visibility from the tractor to the back part of the mixer is good, especially if the mixer is equipped with a silo cutter loading system.

LOADING THE MIXER The mixer will be loaded using front end loaders, or similar, by pouring the ingredients over the tub or using the silo cutter system. The mixer should be controlled by only one person, the tractor driver, who shall coordinate the actions of other people or machines should their intervention be necessary.

It has to be consulted at all times during the loading process.

In order to use the silo cutter correctly, adjust the lowering speed based on how hard the silage is, by turning the adjustment knob located on the monoblock distributor.

    USER’S MANUAL MT HORIZONTAL MIXER WAGON 3.3. OPERATION AND USE OF THE BEATERS The beaters are located on the inside of the tub on the right side of the mixer. Before starting the mix, make sure that beaters are activated so that the beaters are operated according to the previous figure in order to guarantee the correct circulation of the different ingredients.

The unloading door has five different open positions, which permit increasing the quantity of the mix that passes to the unloading belt due to the auger’s rotating action. LOAD TEST Medium Load Test: We recommend that, when you are going to use the mixer for the first time, and in order to get use to the mixing system, and to use the mixer correctly, you do an initial mix using the 50% of the mixer’s capacity.

Maximum load test When the medium load test is finished, and before unloading the mixer, we can load the mixer to its full capacity.

  • Page 69 USER’S MANUAL MT HORIZONTAL MIXER WAGON 4.3. LEVEL CHECK Weekly check the oil levels of the multiplicator, auger reductor, and beater reductors through the level indicators. In general, if oil levels are low they should be refilled. The following should be taken into account: 1.

If the oil level is low, fill the reservoir through the plug (L). In order to drain the oil, use the plug located at the bottom of the redactor.

FILTERS Hydraulic Oil Filter Check Periodically check the clogging of the return filter (R) of the hydraulic oil, using the indicator gauge (M) located in the hydraulic oil tank. If the pressure gauge indicates a pressure of 0.8 Bar, replace the filter. This operation must be performed by qualified personnel.
