5 SAFETY REGULATIONS
Managing refrigerants and other fluids
In case of contact with refrigerants, proceed as follows:
• First aid - first aid measures after or during contact with refrigerants:
Make sure to wear personal protective equipment;
•
In all circumstances, always call a doctor and/or ambulance;
•
Remove any clothes contaminated with refrigerant.
•
• Inhalation - additional measures:
Move the injured person to a well-ventilated location;
•
Ensure that the injured person is in a stable position on his/her side;
•
Avoid consumption of food or drinks;
•
If the injured person collapses or loses consciousness, give mouth-to-mouth.
•
• Contact with skin - additional measures:
Rinse the areas that have come into contact with the refrigerant using lukewarm water for at least fifteen minutes.
•
• Eye contact - additional measures:
Do not rub your eyes;
•
Remove contact lenses;
•
Rinse the eyes with plenty of water.
•
Risks associated with flammable substances and fire
• Do not place flammable substances or materials in or near the system.
• In the vicinity of the unit, it is forbidden to:
use naked flames;
•
smoke.
•
• Only carry out brazing or welding activities on clean or empty pipes, without lubricant oil residues. Do not bring flames or other
sources of heat near pipes containing refrigerating liquid.
• When the rules in force require the installation of fire-fighting systems near the machine, check that these are suitable for extinguishing
fires on electrical equipment and on the lubricating oil of the compressor and the coolant, as specified on the safety data sheets of
these fluids (for example, a CO
