Locating the target
Precise location makes digging out the target object easier, but it takes
practice. We recommend that you practice on your own property before
searching elsewhere. Note the following points to locate a target object:
1. If the detector has found a buried target,
continue to swing the search head over the
target in a tightening motion from side to
side.
2. Make a mark on the exact spot where the
detector beeps.
3. Hold the search ring directly over this point.
Then move the search head straight away
from you and towards you. Repeat this a few
times.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 at a right angle to the
original search direction to form an "X". The
target is directly under this "X" where the
detector beeps.
Factors infl uencing localisation
It is diffi cult to get an accurate search result. Sometimes the result is
infl uenced by the following factors.
The angle of the target buried in the ground.
The depth of the target.
The degree of oxidation of the target.
The size of the target.
Electromagnetic and electrical interference surrounding the target.
If you practise patiently and correctly several times, you will soon get
satisfactory results.
