    SAFETY PRECAUTIONS ® The following Safety Precautions must be observed when operating or servicing this Hausted Pediatric Care Stretcher. WARNING indicates the potential for personal injury and CAUTION indicates the potential for damage to equipment. For emphasis, certain Safety Precautions are repeated throughout the manual. It is important to review ALL Safety Precautions before operating or servicing the unit.

    Hausted Pediatric Care Stretcher do not work ® properly, call STERIS for service. Step 5 – Clean the Horizon Stretcher using a mild detergent to remove any dirt accumulated during shipment. Step 6 – Place the stretcher into service.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 3.1 Braking and Steering Operation 3.1.1 Applying The Brakes The four wheel central braking system is activated by depressing the red pedal at any of the four corners of the unit (Figure 3-1). To fully engage the brakes, the pedal should be pressed to approximately 45º.

    3.1.4 Releasing The Steering Depress the red pedal at any of the four corners of the unit, until the Lock pedal is in a horizontal position (Figure 3-2). All four wheels should rotate and swivel freely. 3.2 Stretcher Top Height Adjustment 3.2.1 Height Adjustment Press the pump pedal to the floor (Figure 3-4), then release.

    3.2.4 Reverse Trendelenburg Adjustment Place the unit at maximum height, see S 3.2‚ S ECTION TRETCHER ‚ 3-2.     3.4 Rail Operation 3.4.1 Raising the Rail to Full Grasp the rail top tube in the center of the rail (Figure 3-10A), with Height free hand squeeze the rail trigger (Figure 3-10B). Lift the rail all the way up (Figure 3-10C). Once the rail is all the way up, release the rail trigger and lower the rail slowly until the trigger engages.
