WARNING indicates the potential for personal injury and CAUTION indicates the potential for damage to equipment. For emphasis, certain Safety Precautions are repeated throughout the manual. It is important toreview ALL Safety Precautions before operating or servicing the unit.

    5. If any of the features of the Horizon quently incurred when Stretcher do not work properly, call STERIS for service. bands are cut and tension released. Step 5 – Clean the Horizon Stretcher using a mild detergent to remove any dirt accumulated during shipment.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 3.1 Braking and Steering Operation 3.1.1 Applying The Brakes The four wheel central braking system is activated by depressing the red pedal at any of the four corners of the unit (Figure 3-1). To fully engage the brakes, the pedal should be pressed to approximately 45º. All four caster wheels should be locked from swiveling and rotating.

    3.2 Litter Top Height Adjustment 3.2.1 Height Adjustment Press the pump pedal to the floor (Figure 3-4), then release. Repeat this process until desired height is obtained. Use smooth strokes on pump pedal to ensure patient comfort. Figure 3-4 3.2.2 Lowering Litter Top Press down on the two release pedals at the same time (Figure 3-5) until desired height is obtained.

    3.7 Foot Extension Operation (Optional Accessory) 3.7.1 Extending Foot With left hand, reach under the foot section and support the foot extension Extension (Figure 3-29). With right hand, turn the T-knob counterclockwise (Figure 3-28). Pull out on the extension and pivot it to the up position (Figure 3-30). Tighten the knob by turning it clockwise (Figure 3-31).
