Setting Up the Drive

Configure the data compression settings based on your
usage environment.
In addition, make sure to configure the SCSI ID or loop ID
for connecting the unit to the host computer.
Configuring Data Compression
Settings
You can configure the data compression settings using the
DIP switch on the underside of the unit.
The following two settings are available for data
compression.
Data compression
setting
DC Control 1
Determines whether the unit's data
compression function is enabled (ON)
or disabled (OFF). The default setting
is ON.
DC Control 2
Determines whether data compression
control from the host computer is
disabled (ON) or enabled (OFF). The
default setting is OFF.
Perform the following to configure the data compression
settings.
Caution
Be sure to turn the unit off before configuring the data
compression settings. If the power cord is connected,
disconnect it from the unit before configuring the settings
as well.

Remove the two screws with a screwdriver and
remove the access cover.
