Degree of protection

Bosch Rexroth AG R911295781_Edition 11
The degrees of protection applicable to MAD/MAF motors are those pursuant
to IEC 60529. All installation positions of the motor have to provide for the
motors not being exposed to ambient conditions outside of the applicable de‐
gree of protection.
The degree of protection is defined by the IP (International Protection) abbre‐
viation and two reference numbers specifying the degree of protection. The
first reference number stands for the degree of protection against contact and
ingress of foreign bodies, the second one stands for the degree of protection
against ingress of water.

Tab. 9-4:
Defining the motor components subject to protection
Products and components with low degree of protection are not suitable for
cleaning procedures using high pressures, vapor or water jet.
NOTICE
Fluids (e.g., cooling lubricants, gear oil, etc.) may not be present at the output
shaft. If, e.g., gears are attached, only gears with a closed (oil-tight) lubrica‐
tion system may be used.
