The holding brake serves to hold axes which have come to a standstill. It may
only be used while the motor is at standstill or to carry out the brake test inte‐
grated in the drive.
Do not use the holding brake as an service brake for moving ax‐
es. If the holding brake is repeatedly activated with the drive rotat‐
ing or the allowed brake energy is exceeded, premature wear and
tear may occur. It has to be expected that the holding brake is
completely worn after approx. 20000 revolutions against the ap‐
plied brake.
