Introduction

2.1 General Comments

If you are integrating the GSM0107 or GSM0108 for the first time, please refer to the Enfora Enabler II-G
Triple-Band Radio Modem Integration Guide GSM0107IG001 or Enfora Enabler II-G Quad-Band Radio
Integration Guide GSM0108IG001 documents respectively. If you are integrating the EDG0108 for the first
time, please refer to the document Enfora Enabler II-E Quad-Band Integration Guide EDG0108IG003.
There are several items to consider when migrating from the GSM0107/GSM0108 to the EDG0108 platform.
The following areas should be understood completely prior to any migration effort. Each area will be
covered in detail in the following sections. The details provided are separated into Minor and Major impact
categories. Minor differences will require very few changes in a migration effort. Major differences will
impact a design in a somewhat substantial way and should be researched thoroughly for any transition
project.
Major differences
Power Consumption
Minor differences
Interface pin-out (Minor)
Slight mechanical differences

Physical Dimension Differences

There are some minor dimensional changes between the EDG0108 and GSM0107/GSM0108
modules. The following drawings provide the differences.
EDG0108 Module Mechanical Notes
Mated 60-pin I/O connector stack height is 2.0 MM
60-pin connector is Molex 53729-0608 (this is the same module connector used on current
designs). The PCB mating connector, Molex 52974-0604, is the same as in prior designs.
The RF connector is Sunridge MCB-ST-00T or approved equivalent. Mates with Sunridge MCB2
series cable assembly
