Kidde Gemini II System
POWER ON Indicator–Lights green when the unit is receiv-
ing AC power and it is within the specified voltage range.
If AC power fails or falls below the required level for
more than 30 seconds, the POWER ON indicator turns
off, the TROUBLE indicator lights and a Trouble mes-
sage is generated.
ALARM Indicator–Lights red when an alarm message is
generated or received. At the Main Control Panel and
for a Remote Hazard Unit programmed for global mode,
the ALARM indicator lights when any alarm is detected
anywhere in the system. For a Remote Hazard Unit in
local mode, the indicator only lights for a local hazard.
In either mode, the ALARM indicator stays on until the
condition clears AND the RESET button is pressed. Si-
lencing the alarms has no effect on this LED indicator.
SUPERVISORY Indicator–Lights yellow to indicate a su-
pervisory (diagnostic) problem.
At the Main Control Panel and for a Remote Hazard
Unit programmed for global mode, the SUPERVISORY
indicator lights when a Supervisory message is gener-
ated anywhere in the system. In either global or local
mode, the SUPERVISORY indicator stays on until the
condition clears AND the RESET button is pressed. Si-
lencing has no effect on this LED indicator.
TROUBLE Indicator–Flashes yellow when a trouble condi-
tion is detected. It is non-latching, so if all relevant
troubles are cleared, the indicator is switched off. For a
Remote Hazard Unit programmed for global mode and
for the Main Control Panel, the TROUBLE indicator
lights for any Trouble in the entire system. For a Re-
mote Hazard Unit programmed for local mode, the
TROUBLE indicator only lights for a trouble originating
at that unit.
SIGNAL SILENCED Indicator–For a Remote Hazard Unit
in local mode, the SIGNAL SILENCED indicator lights
yellow when all troubles and alarms from that hazard
have been acknowledged. The operator silences the
buzzer and acknowledges an alarm with the SIGNAL
SILENCE button. If a new Trouble or Alarm occurs at
the Remote Hazard Unit, the SIGNAL SILENCED indi-
cator goes out and the buzzer sounds.
On the MCP the SIGNAL SILENCED indicator will illu-
minate when any one hazard on the system has been
fully silenced. On the RHU the SIGNAL SILENCED in-
dicator operates in local mode irrespective of the RHU
assignment.
Note: Due to special Canadian annunciation require-
ments, MCPs listed for use in Canada are designed
to be suitable for mounting 1 to 3 LED Display Mod-
ules. Each LED Display Module pertains to one zone
of protection and provides 16 zone-specific LEDs
over and above the five system LEDs on the main
LCD display. See Appendix F for a detailed expla-
nation of the operation and installation of LED Dis-
play Modules. MCPs with LED Display Modules may
also be use in non-Canadian applications.
