8.12 Spittoon bowl valve (Option)
▶ The spittoon bowl valve contains and transports what drained out from the spittoon bowl
to the amalgam separator integrated in the suction motor.
It automatically drains out if certain amount of liquid is collected inside of the valve and
also prevent the spittoon bowl from being connected directly to the suction line where
negative pressure exists so that noise and odor does not come out of the spittoon bowl.
Clean the filter regularly as required below.
CAUTION
For the purpose of preventing infection, wear protective gloves when replacing
a filter in the spittoon bowl valve.
▶ Cleaning filter (monthly)
Open the unit door and pull out a filter by turning it
Counterclockwise. Clean or replace it.
NOTE
This filter is a coarse filter to prevent particles from flowing into the suction line.
▶ cleaning spittoon bowl valve and plumbing (weekly)
When opening the unit door, there is a switch panel
as shown on the right.
1) Press 'spittoon bowl rinsing switch' in the control panel.
2) Press and hold the switch 'A' until cleaning is completed.
3) Pour a cleaning solution into the spittoon bowl. Press and
hold the switch 'A' until the solution is completely drained out.
CAUTION
Do not use a cleaning solution which makes foams.
NOTE
Do not prepare a cleaning solution earlier than an hour before use.
If the solution is kept open too long, it may diminish cleaning effectiveness.
