If it moves more than 1 in. (2.5 cm), you can try:
A. Reinstalling the child restraint.
B. Changing to a different seating location.
C. Switching to lower anchor belt installation if lower anchors
are available in your vehicle.

Check Belt Tightness
Hold child restraint at the belt
path with your weaker hand.
Push and pull from side to
side.
It should not move more than
1 in. (2.5 cm).

Check your child's fi t often
and make any needed adjust-
ments to the car seat as they
grow.

Make sure the angle
indicator ball is in the
blue
Redo the installation if not
reclined correctly.
NOTE: You may need to place a
tightly rolled towel(s) or foam pool
noodle(s) under the front of the
base to help achieve the correct
recline.
Check often to be sure padding is
still in place and the belt is tight.
Review pages 19-22 and your vehicle owner's manual to
determine how to lock the belt with the retractor.
Check the tightness of the install often to make sure it has not
loosened.
