5. Proper operation
Before operating, ALWAYS turn the power switch OFF and check that the machine has already stopped.
5.12 Adjusting lapped width of upper fabric
For the standard position of the lower knife ① , make the
distance between the lower knife ① tip and the part A of
presser foot to 0.5 ㎜ . (Fig. 5-19)
For the standard position of the upper knife ② , engage
between the upper knife ② and lower knife ① to 0.5 ㎜
when the upper knife ② is at the extreme left. (Fig. 5-20)
The amount of the upper fabric overlap differs depending
on the right-and-left position of the lower knife.
● When the lower knife is moved to the right, the upper
fabric overlap decreases.
● When the lower knife is moved to the left, the upper
fabric overlap increases.
Changing the position of the lower knife ① , the
engagement of the upper knife ② is readjusted to 0.5 ㎜ .

Loosen the screws ③ and ④ to adjust the lower and upper
knives respectively. (Fig. 5-19 and 5-21)
 ADVICE
Increasing the amount of the upper fabric overlap too
much may result in stitch skipping, stitching in place or
fabric pinching.
