Check the correct position and secure fit of the tank strap before each dive.

6. BALLASTING SYSTEM

The total weight must be calculated and tested in order to maintain a neutral buoyancy since
you change depth during the dive, by simply adding or releasing the correct amount of air.
The SCUBAPRO BC has been designed for three ballasting systems, based on the use of
the 'Ecoweight' (soft sealed weight) developed to improve comfort, to reduce wear of the
pockets and to protect the environment as well.
6.1

Standard weight belt

It is the traditional harness weight belt, separate from the BC.
6.2

Integrated Weight Pocket System (OPTIONAL)

The REBEL offers disposable weight pouches as an option. This allows a predetermined
amount of lead to be thrown off in an emergency. In most cases, you can do without a
weight belt entirely. An important aspect is that the lead is anatomically better distributed
and the back is prevented from being pushed through.
6.3

Adding the leads:

Open the zipper on the upper part of the weight pocket and put the lead inside. Make sure
that the fastex buckle is tightly closed at the bottom to prevent, that the lead can slip out.
Close the zipper completely.
6.4

Adding the optional weight pockets:

Open the velcro and put the weight in the optional weight pocket. Close the pocket with
the velcro. Open the zipper on the upper part of the weight pocket and put the lead inside.
Make sure that the fastex buckle is tightly closed at the bottom to prevent, that the lead can
slip out. Close the zipper completely.
6.5
DISCARD/ REMOVE the weight (of the optional weight
pockets) from the jacket
• Bring your body into an upright position
• Squeeze the sides of the quick release buckle together and pull it down until the flap and
Velcro is completely open. The bag opens, the lead /weight pockets fall down. Please note
that this should only be done in an emergency, as the lead slips out downwards.
• To remove the lead after the dive, please open the zipper and remove the lead upwards.
⚠ WARNING
Practice fastening and releasing the weight pockets several times before diving.
