Start a measurement only after applying the cuff. Press the START/STOP button
. The appearance of all display segments followed by the time and date indi-
cates that the monitor is carrying out its self-test and is ready for use.
Check the display segments for completion.
Cuff inflates automatically after about 0.5 seconds. If the inflation pressure is
insufficient or if the measurement is interrupted, the monitor pumps at intervals
of 40 mmHg up to the appropriate higher pressure value. During inflation, the
results indicator on the left also increases at the same time.
If the cuff has been applied securely enough on the arm, the cuff symbol
appears on the display. If the cuff symbol does not appear in the display,
the cuff has not been fitted securely enough and the error message ' '
appears on the display after a few seconds.
Important: Please do not speak or move during the measurement.
As the air pressure in the cuff decreases, the heart symbol and the dropping
pressure in the cuff are shown on the display.
After the measurement is complete, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure as
well as the pulse rate (see Fig. below) appear simultaneously.
