TKP: Resetting a NetGuardian 216 G3 to Factory Defaults

If you can't remember your passwords to access a NetGuardian 216 G3,

and have no other means to access the unit, you can manually reset the

unit to factory settings.

Note: If you have a G1 series NetGuardian 216 or 480, see

This techno knowledge paper can help you if:

• You cannot access your NetGuardian 216 G3 due to a forgotten

username/password.

• You have physical access to the NetGuardian

Note: This process will set your NetGuardian back to factory defaults, erasing its alarm database. Do

not proceed if you don't wish to restore your NetGuardian to factory defaults.

Connect to the 216's TTY Interface via the Front Craft Port.

o Start a Hyperterminal Session using the following settings:

9600 baud

Flow control: None

You should now be able to login to your NetGuardian 216 G3's web interface using the IP address you've set in the previous step, admin for the username, and dpstelecom for the password. From the web interface, you can reconfigure the unit and re-database your alarm points.
