Connecting and setting up
a wired network (Automatic
setting)
This section explains the setup for a wired
network.
When you turn on the unit for the
first time
If your unit is newly purchased and you connect it
to the device (broadband router, hub, etc.) that has
been connected and set up for your computer, the
unit will automatically set up the wired network
when you turn it on for the first time.
If the unit fails to connect to the network, do the
following procedure.

Connect the unit to the device
(broadband router, hub, etc.) that is
connected to your computer.

Enter the Settings menu and select
[Network setting].

Select [Auto setting].
Follow the instructions that appear on the
display.
When the unit connects to the network, a
pop-up window appears in the top left part
of the display to show the connection status.
This indication will automatically disappear
after a while. If the connection status changes,
the pop-up window will appear automatically.

Note
If the unit does not connect to the network, check the
connection between the devices.
To setup the network manually
(Manual setting)
If you cannot make a network connection with
the automatic setting or if you want to connect the
unit to the network through a wired connection
after having connected through a wireless
connection, you need to set up the network
manually.
Additional settings may be required, depending on
the specifications of the Internet provider or the
way the router is being used.

Enter the Settings menu and select
[Network setting].

Select [Manual setting].
Note
If you select [Manual setting] after the unit has been
connected to the network using an automatic setting,
the connection stops. To reconnect to the network
with the automatic setting, select [Auto setting].

Select [Wired LAN setting].
"Checking Network setting" appears in the
display, and then the setup display appears.
