Selectable audio formats for recording/importing
The item and format that can be recorded/imported depend on the source (device or disc) from which the
audio data will be recorded/imported.

Audio data that has been imported in the Linear PCM format can be converted to the MP3 format afterwards.

WAV-format files can also be imported. When imported, the files are converted to Linear PCM.

ATRAC-format files can be imported from USB storage devices that support the MSC (Mass Storage Class) standard,

but not from USB storage devices that support the MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) standard.

AAC-format files are automatically converted to MP3 format during import (the bit rate can be set in the setting

display for import).

AAC-format files imported using the "Music Transfer" software are automatically converted to MP3 format (the bit rate

can be set in the transfer setting display of the "Music Transfer" software). AAC-format files with the ".oma" extension
are automatically converted to MP3 format with a bit rate of 256 kbps, regardless of the bit rate setting in the "Music
Transfer" software.
Notes
When importing audio data from a "WALKMAN" connected to the WM-PORT, make sure the HDD JUKEBOX
function is selected. Audio data cannot be imported when the WM-PORT function is selected.
ATRAC format audio data cannot be transferred to a USB storage device. If you want to transfer audio data to a USB
storage device, import the audio data in MP3 format.
When devices are connected to the WM-PORT and both USB ports (top and rear) at the same time, the order of
priority of the various devices is WM-PORT, the top USB port, and then the rear USB port.
You cannot import audio data that is copyright protected.
