Tips
 The "Auto title" setting is factory set to "On" (page 56).
If you do not intend to use this function, set "Auto title"
to "Off ".
 When recording a radio broadcast (for "Track mark"
settings other than "Auto"), DAB service (for "Track
mark" settings other than "Auto"), or from an externally
connected component, a track mark is added whenever
you press the HDD REC  button. Track marks can
only be added for tracks with a minimum length of 16
seconds.
 When recording from an externally connected
component and "Auto title" is set to "Off ", the recorded
data are date and time stamped.
Importing audio data from a
"WALKMAN" or a USB storage
device
You can import audio data stored on a
"WALKMAN" or a USB storage device to the
HDD Jukebox.
The following audio formats can be imported to
this unit.
 MP3 (".mp3", ".oma")
 Linear PCM (".wav", ".oma")
 WMA (".wma", ".oma")
 ATRAC (".oma")
 AAC*
(".3gp", ".mp4", ".m4a", ".oma")

Files will be automatically converted to MP3 format.

Notes
 Files with copyright protection (Digital Rights
Management) cannot be imported to this unit.
 When importing audio data from a "WALKMAN" or a
USB storage device, make sure you do not disconnect
the device from the WM-PORT or the USB port before
processing has completed. If you do, the unit may
malfunction.

Select the HDD JUKEBOX function.

Connect the "WALKMAN" or the USB
storage device to the USB port on
the unit.
Refer to the operation manual of the portable
device as well.
Tip
A "WALKMAN" equipped with a WM-PORT can
be connected to the WM-PORT on the top of the
unit.

Enter the Options menu and select
[USB storage] – [Import].
When devices are connected to the WM-
PORT and both USB ports (top and rear) at
the same time, the order of priority of the
various devices is WM-PORT, the top USB
port, and then the rear USB port.
If you are unable to find the desired source
device, disconnect the devices one at a time,
from the highest to the lowest priority.
If the storage medium selection display
appears, select the storage medium. (If the
connected portable device has only one drive,
then the storage medium selection display
does not appear.)

Select the albums to be imported.
The selected albums are checked
Press ENTER to remove the check mark for
tracks not to be imported.

Select [Execute].
When importing AAC-format files, files
are automatically converted to MP3 format.
Select [SETTINGS] and set the bit rate.
Notes
 You can import a maximum of 10,000 tracks at a time
(page 154).
 You cannot import audio data when the WM-PORT
function is selected.
