PACEdge software is meant to be an open-source Linux software, which gives the user great
flexibility in adding, changing, or deleting software components. It is expected that during the
development and experimentation phases user will end up in the situation wanting to restore the
original PACEdge state.
Following is a procedure to recover back to the Factory Default software settings applicable to
PACEdge pre-installed on Emerson Industrial PCs.
Note: This procedure shows how to recover PACEdge software installation back to Factory Default,
however, if the user has entered UEFI setting menus and modified UEFI settings these will remain
as is. To restore UEFI settings to Factory Default please enter the UEFI Settings menu and choose
the recovery option in the Save & Exit page.

PACEdge Software Recovery Procedure

PACEdge software recovery on the pre-installed Emerson hardware products requires to use your
own USB stick (minimum 8 GB size) to download the applicable PACEdge Software Recovery –
Emerson System Installation image from the Emerson support site.
Important: Performing a factory reset will overwrite all data and disk partitions. Make sure to
backup your critical data before proceeding.
Procedure:
1. Backup all important data from your current PACEdge system onto a USB stick or another
