Handling cables

CAUTION
Do not damage or modify the cables such as

heating, forced bending, twisting, pulling, or
placing heavy objects on them. Doing so may

malfunction.

When inserting or removing the cable, only

Remove any dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc on cable
connectors. Failure to do so may cause this
device to malfunction.

Handling batteries

WARNING
The ETERNUS DX60 S4/DX100 S4/DX200 S4,
Do
ETERNUS DX500 S4/DX600 S4, ETERNUS
DX500 S3/DX600 S3, ETERNUS DX8100 S3/
DX8700 S3/DX8900 S3, ETERNUS AF250 S2/
AF650 S2, and ETERNUS AF650 use a nickel-
metal hydride battery. The life of the battery is
strongly influenced by temperature. If those
models are regulated at a temperature of
25°C, they can be used continuously within
the maintenance support period (five years).
If this device is used under high temperatures,
the replacement cycle may be shortened.
Using a battery after the replacement cycle
period has expired may result in battery
leakage and smoke generation.
Make sure to replace the battery before the
replacement cycle has expired. Batter y
replacement must be performed by your sales
representative or your maintenance engineer.
Never attempt to replace or disassemble the
battery by yourself as doing so may cause an
electric shock, injury, or fire.
LCD
Warning
Do not fold
WARNING
The LCD contains toxic liquid. Therefore, if the
LCD breaks and the internal liquid leaks out,
do not touch this liquid directly or let it come
into contact with the skin.
If this should happen, rinse with running
water for 15 minutes.
Or, if splashed in eyes, rinse with running
water for 15 minutes and consult a doctor
immediately.
