Battery Maintenance
The lithium-ion battery is a sealed
battery.
To help maintain the lithium-ion battery,
do the following:
▼ Disconnect the battery cables, -
negative (black lead) first, if the
motorcycle is in storage or used
infrequently.

▼ If the battery is left for a period of
time, check the voltage. If it is lower
than 12.4 Volts, recharge the battery
as described on page 157.
▼ Clean the battery using a clean, dry
cloth.
▼ Make sure the battery terminals are
clean and securely fastened.

check
terminals for any residue. Make sure
they
are
clean
moisture as this will ensure that the
transfer of energy from the battery
is consistent.

Battery Storage
To store a lithium-ion battery correctly,
do the following:
▼ Always
store
approximately 100% state of charge.
▼ Always make sure that the charge
state of the battery is monitored
continuously if left for long periods
of time, so it does not fully discharge.
▼ Always store the battery in a clean,
dry and ventilated area.
▼ Always store the battery away from
heat and fire.
▼ Never allow the battery to come into
contact
with
substance.
