Problem
The application display uses only a p ortion of
the screen and is surrounded by a dark band.
The built-in keyboard does not seem to work.
The mouse cursor seems to move of its
own accord.

Possible Cause
1. You are running an application that does not
support 800x600 resolution display and display
compression is enabled.
1. The notebook has gone into Suspend Mode.
2. The application has locked out the keyboard.
1. Your hand is coming too close to the
TouchPad when you are using the keyboard.
Possible Solution
1 . Di s p l ay com pre s s i on gives a cl e a rer but small-
er display for app l i c a ti ons that do not su pport
800x600 re s o luti on . You can fill the screen but
h ave less re s o luti on by ch a n ging the display
com pre s s i on set ti n g, (See the Video Fe a tu res
Su b - m enu of the Adva n ced Menu on pa ge 64.)
1. Push the Resume Button.
2 . Try to use the To u ch Pad Poi n ting Devi ce to
access the Start Menu and then the Shut Down
Menu and Re s t a rt the Sys tem . If this fails then
tu rn your notebook o , wait 10 seconds or more ,
and then tu rn it on from the Power Swi tch.
1. Be careful not to drag your hand across the
TouchPad. An extremely light skin contact can
activate the cursor.
