Table 7 shows that all five sequence numbers from 18 through 22 are present. The
Comma-Delimited Tag Listing, especially in a spreadsheet, allows you to quickly
determine if an ID3 tag is missing.
Tag Time
18
1444645043
155
The Tag Time corresponds to the First tag time, which identifies the time at which the
PCM-to-ID3 SDK began to collect watermarks for the current Nielsen ID3 tag. The
tag times of consecutive DATA rows should be no more than 12 seconds apart,
assuming that the processed audio contains uninterrupted Nielsen watermarks. In the
snippet above from Table 7, all tag times are correctly spaced.
Tag Offset
18
1444645043
155
The tag offset field reports the offset of the current tag from the First tag listed in the
file. The offset is calculated by subtracting the First tag time from the current tag time.
If no tags are missing, and if the audio is properly watermarked, the tag offsets
should be spaced at intervals of 12 seconds or less.
Watermark PC SID
18
1444645043
155
The Watermark PC SID identifies the SID of the last valid PC EDU in the current tag.
In a spreadsheet, quickly scan this column to determine whether—and, if so, at what
point—the PC SID changed from the start of processing to the end. Around the point
of transition, expect to see 10–20 seconds of PC CID errors (SID and timestamp).
Because the PC SID value is changing, discount these errors.
Note
Watermark PC Timestamp
18
1444645043
155
9020
The Watermark PC timestamp identifies the calculated NAES 2 timestamp of the last
valid EDU whose SID matches the Watermark PC SID (9020 in the snippet above). If
the last valid PC EDU with the corresponding SID is derived from a NAES 6
watermark, the Watermark PC Timestamp is converted from NAES 6 to NAES 2
format; otherwise, the timestamp is directly read from the EDU.
Occasionally decoding errors may cause one or more bits of the timestamp to be
incorrectly set. In a spreadsheet, you can easily detect the faulty timestamp.
