The audio is "quiet," such as during a talk show.
Compression or poor resampling techniques produce audio distortions that negatively
affect NAES watermark detection.
NAES encoding allows one FD SID to overwrite an FD SID previously inserted into
the stream. For example, FD SID 100 may have been inserted at the broadcast
facility where the content originated; afterwards, an encoder at a local broadcast
affiliate may overwrite SID 100 with FD SID 200. If the SIDs are not precisely aligned
during the overwriting process, the decoder may incorrectly decode portions of the
watermark (SID, timestamp).
The audio is clipped at some frequencies.
Whenever the NAES decoder within that PCM-to-ID3 SDK is unsuccessful in decoding
PC or FD watermarks, the ID3 tag inserter may be thwarted in its ability to generate ID3
tags. If no watermarks appear for the entire 10-second span of an ID3 tag, no ID3 tag is
generated for that 10-second period. Therefore, a reduced SID count in the SID List of
the Summary Report may well be reflected in a reduced tally of DATA tags. See "Test 1
Result: DATA Tag Count" on page 21.

INFO Tag Listing

Description and Example

The INFO Tag listing is the third section in the Summary Report. It identifies all of the
INFO-tag fields. Interspersed among the DATA tags at 5-minute intervals, INFO tags
identify your device or application as the source of the DATA tags. Validator simply lists
the value of each of the fields. It declares an error only if the format of the field is
incorrect or if the field has not been assigned a value. For a definition of the INFO Tag
contents see the Nielsen PCM-to-ID3 SDK Developer's Guide.
