Possible Causes of Failure
The most common log message associated with a CID SID error is:
If any of the following events triggers a CID SID error, ignore the error:
•
One or more tags contain watermarks with SIDs that are changing.
•
More than 10 seconds have transpired without any watermarks. In this case, the CID
SID reverts to 0 as the PCM-to-ID3 SDK aligns to the next group of watermarks.
•
The watermark decoder may not have properly decoded the SID in the source
watermark possibly because the audio is difficult to decode due to compression or
improper resampling. The issue produces EDU errors, which results in CID errors.

For content that was originally watermarked as live, broadcast, streaming content, set the
CID timestamp to 3 a.m. If the value is not 3 a.m., an error is declared. The only case in
which the CID timestamp should not be set to 3 a.m. is when the watermarks in the tags
have TICs and the TICs are set to a value less than 10,800 (1/1/1995, 3 a.m.). See the

because Validator allows up to 32 CID timestamp errors.
