1. Do I need to install driver / software for OSS on Windows OS?
- NO, driver is not required for OSS when using it on Windows 7 OS and above, Linux and Mac.
2. Do I need to install driver / software for OSS on Laptop computer running Windows 7, Linux and Mac OS?
- No, driver is not required.
3. Can I plug in the OSS expansion unit to my computer while it is on?
- No, connecting the OSS expansion unit to a powered UP computer can cause the system to lock up or
4. Can I turn off the OSS expansion unit while the computer is running?
- No, if you do this, it will crash your system.
5. What is the proper sequence of powering ON and powering OFF the expansion system?
- When Powering UP, you must power UP the expansion chassis first then the host computer
- When Powering Down, turn OFF the host computer first then the expansion chassis.
6. Can I turn on the computer and use it while the expansion chassis is attached?
- You may, but your computer may hang on boot. You need to disconnect the OSS expansion chassis from your host
7. Can I replace the cards in the expansion chassis without powering down the expansion unit and computer?
- No, you must shutdown the computer and expansion unit when removing and installing PCI cards
8. Do I get the driver for my PCI card from OSS?
- No, check with the vendor or manufacturer of the PCI card.
9. Can I use an adapter like an express card-to-pcmcia card to connect the OSS to laptop?
- No, using an adapter like express card-to-pcmcia card or vice versa is not going to work with the OSS expansion unit. The OSS hardware will
not be detected or recognized.
