PE3R vs PE3R-3.3

There are two backplanes available for the 3slot PCI expansion chassis.

The 5V 64bit PCI/PCI-x backplane (Model: PE3R)

The 3.3V 64bit PCI/PCI-x backplane (Model: PE3R-3.3)
The standard PE3R model is sold with a 5v 64bit PCI /PCI-X backplane. If you are using a 3.3V PCI cards, you need to buy the PE3R-3.3 model,
which comes with a 3.3V rail PCI / PCI-X slot backplane.
Use the photos below / drawings as reference to differentiate between a 3.3v PCI and 5V PCI backplane and various cards that will fit into the
slot.
A universal 3.3 & 5V 64-bit PCI / PCI-x card will fit properly into a 3.3V 64-bit and 5V 64-bit backplanes. Both PE3R and PE3R-3.3 models will
work with a universal 64-bit PCI/PCI-X card, see above photos.

A non-universal 3.3V 64-bit PCI card, will only work on a 3.3V 64-bit PCI / PCI-X slot (backplane)

A non- universal 5V 64-bit PCI card, will only work on a 5V 64-bit PCI / PCI-X backplane (backplane)
