Use the electric parking brake to secure the vehicle against rolling away.

Consult a qualified specialist workshop.

* The transfer case is malfunctioning.
Stop the vehicle in accordance with the traffic conditions.

Apply the electric parking brake.
#
Where necessary, also secure the vehicle against rolling away.

Engage park position j.
#
* The maximum speed of 10 km/h for the gear change has been exceeded.
Drive more slowly.
#
Repeat the gear change.
#
* The maximum speed of 40 km/h for the gear change has been exceeded.
Drive more slowly.
#
To deactivate the gear change, press the LOW RANGE button again.
#
Repeat the gear change.
#
* The oil temperature in the transfer case is too high.
In the on-road position, shift to HIGH RANGE.
