Page 2: Bracket Installation
This MadStad system attaches above your handlebar clamps using aluminum spacers and longer bolts. Your handlebars do not need to come loose as you can install these brackets one side at a time. Bracket Installation: STEP 1 - Pry off all four plastic bolt caps that are on your handlebar bolts. You will not need these, but save them. - Page 3 STEP 3 – Set two of the M8 bolts with flat washers through one of the two MadStad brackets. On the other side put another flat washer and then a spacer on each bolt. This setup will go in through the handlebar clamp and bolt down. The complete picture of how the bolts, washers, spacers and clamp go together is shown below: STEP 4 –...
- Page 4 STEP 5 – Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 for the other half of the brackets. Use the same hardware configuration for this as you did on the other side of the crossbar. Once the crossbar is installed, then finish tightening down the bar clamp bolts same as you did in Step 4.
- Page 5 Adjusting the MadStad Knob Brackets The knob screws release the brackets allowing the windshield to slide and tilt. These knob screws must always be tightened securely before riding. DO NOT attempt to adjust the brackets while riding! You must come to a complete stop before making adjustments.
- Page 6 PIVOT SCREWS The MadStad mount has a pivot screw on each set of brackets, located near the center of the bottom bracket. A nylon lock nut keeps the screw snugly in place, yet allows the brackets to slide back and forth. It is adjusted at the factory to have a minimum of play yet still allow the brackets to move.
