FIG. 17: Use the chart to convert seed population from
pounds per acre to actual count and vice-versa.
Seed spacing can also be determined:

Seeds per foot
•
Seed spacing in inches
Example:
Assume 16,000 seeds/lb with a desired seeding rate of
2,000,000 seeds/acre. Row spacing is 10 inches.
Determine number of seeds/lb.
NOTE: Obtain number from seed dealer.
At intersection of 16,000 seeds/lb graph line and 2,000
(seeds/acre in 1000's, left side), read 125 lb/acre
(bottom).
Seed spacing in 0.30 inch with 39 seeds/ft (left side).
