Remote Hydraulic Valve Requirements
Three remote valves are required:
1. One valve controls the frame lift/lower circuit.
2. A
second
valve
height/marker/fold circuits.
Tractor Drawbar
Adjust tractor drawbar to between 36 cm (14 in) and 51
cm (20 in) off the ground and position so hitch pin hole is
36 cm (14 in) from the end of the PTO shaft.
Tractor PTO
The planter hydraulic pump requires a 1000 rpm tractor
PTO shaft of either size:
Tire Inflation
Inflate tires as recommended in tractor operator's manual.
Front Weights
Install as many weights as required for front end stability
when planter is folded. Also refer to the tractor operator
manual.
Electrical Requirements
The tractor electrical system must provide 12 volts D.C. to
operate the seed monitor, highway lighting system, frame
fold control system, and hydraulic seed drive controller.
PLANTER PREPARATION
Lubrication
Lubricate the planter as required. Also, check the fluid
level in the PTO pump. Add fluid if required.
Bolt Torque
Tighten all bolts according to the chart.
Tire Inflation
See Specifications for the correct tire pressure.
Markers
Adjust markers to correct length.
Chains
Make sure all drive chains are installed with the proper
tension, alignment, and lubrication.
Seed Discs
Install the correct seed discs in all of the metering units.

Field Operations and Adjustments
3. A third valve will be needed for hydraulic drive and
singulation blowers if the PTO pump is not used.
Minimum available tractor system pressure must be
15,502 kPa (2250 psi).
IMPORTANT: Drawbar must be in shortest possible
position.
IMPORTANT: Tractor must be equipped with heavy duty
drawbar option from tractor manufacturer.
21-spline, 1-3/8 inch diameter
20-spline, 1-3/4 inch diameter
IMPORTANT: Connect electrical equipment only to 12
volts DC.
The transport lighting system is connected to the tractor
with a standard 7-pin connector.
Make sure all bolts, nuts, and screws are tight and all
cotter pins are spread.
Adjust the seed gates as needed.
