TRANSPORTING THE PLANTER

Preparation

Make sure the planter is connected according to the
procedures outlined.
Fold the planter as described on the previous pages.
Install the wheel lift cylinder and hitch cylinder
lockups.
Lock the wings in the transport position.
Empty all the hopper and tanks to 1/4 full or less
before transporting the planter.
Observe all safety precautions.

Safety Precautions

Always install and use the highway safety transport
chain.
Use good judgment when transporting the tractor
implements on the highway. Maintain complete
control of the machines at all times.
Comply with state and local laws governing highway
safety and regulations when moving machinery.
Always make the necessary safety precautions prior
to transporting the planter on public roads. This
includes maintaining the SMV (Slow Moving Vehicle)
emblem and using adequate lights or other safety
warnings after dark except when prohibited by law.
Never tow 16-row planters with a tractor having less
than 150 kW (112 hp). Transport the planter only with
a tractor.
Never tow 23, 24-row planters with tractor having less
than 127 kW (175 hp). Transport the planter only with
a tractor.
Never tow 31-row planter with tractor having less than
157 kW (210 hp). Transport the planter only with a
tractor.

CAUTION: When transporting, planter can
be unstable on rough ground. Travel
according to conditions but not faster than
24 km/h (15 mph).

DANGER: Serious injury or death can
result from contact with electric lines. Use
extreme care when moving or operating
this machine near electric lines to avoid
contact.
