switched from Off to On, the differential should open (push away from the front of the
machine) quickly. When switched from On to Off, the differential should close smoothly,
taking approximately 1.5 to 2 seconds. If the flow rate is found to be out of tolerance, refer
to the Troubleshooting Guide for further diagnostics.

DIFFERENTIAL SETTINGS:

The differential is set at the factory at 4.1- 4.5mm. Note that our measurement
system differs from that of a wheel system in that we are measuring the difference between
the roughing and finishing cuts when both are done rimless, as opposed to measuring the
difference between the diameter of the roughing cut and the finished beveled lens.
Consequently, our method of differential measurement will result in a number greater than
that of a traditional edger, which excludes the bevel depth. If adjustment is ever required, it
can be accomplished by tightening or loosening the set screw located in the end of the sizing
screw. Tightening the set screw will decrease the differential, while loosening it will
increase the differential.

SIZE:

The sizing dial is factory-set to reproduce size-on-size when beveling with the dial set
at 36.5, in accordance to U.S. sizing conventions. If a setting other than this is desired or a
sizing adjustment is needed, the dial can be reset by loosening the set screw found running
through its periphery. Cut a lens so that it is perfectly sized to match the pattern, then loosen
the set screw and rotate the dial to 36.5. Retighten the set screw, and the sizing should be
correct. A test lens should be run to check the new sizing adjustment.
