SAFETY FEATURES:

National Optronics, Inc. has incorporated several safety features into the Horizon II
Bevel Edger. Removing or disabling any of these safety features could result in serious
injury to the operator, and will null all liability on the part of National Optronics, Inc.
Safety Shield Keeper:
The safety shield keeper prevents the Plexiglas lid from being opened during the
cutting cycle until the cutter motor has fully retracted behind its shields at the end of the
cycle.
Plexiglas Lid Mercury Switch:
The mercury switch located on the Plexiglas lid prevents the cycle from starting
before the lid is closed.
Cutter Motor Mercury Switch:
The cutter motor mercury switch, located inside the case top to the right of the edger,
prevents the cutter motor from receiving power while the case lid is open for periodic
maintenance or repairs.
Cutter Top Shield:
The cutter top shield, which is hinged above the cutter, is designed to prevent the
operator from accidentally coming into contact with the cutting blades when inserting or
removing a lens from the chuck.
